August can be such a fun time to do things with kids as you wrap up the last full month of summer, We’ve included several fun themes that just shout summer fun together with your child.

Sunrise with Kids for Summer Bucket List Idea

Take a moment this August to truly celebrate summer and all the special things you get to do as a kid.

You can head outdoors to enjoy these summer ideas:

  • Go on a nature hike
  • Have a picnic in the park or at the beach.
  • Visit a local zoo, aquarium, or museum.
  • Go swimming, boating, or fishing.
  • Have a barbecue or cookout.
  • Play outdoor games, such as tag, hide-and-seek, or frisbee.
  • Go camping or stargazing.

You can also just spend time indoors together when you:

One fun little theme is the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom to explore with your child. It’s a fun way to practice their letters and even kick off a school year as you celebrate coconut trees and more. Be sure to learn the song too!

One holiday that is celebrated in August is India’s Independence day. India was under British rule for about 200 years. India won it’s freedom on August 15, 1947. Here are a few ways to learn more about India and celebrate this special day with your child.
